Student Support Team/SAP

STUDENT SUPPORT TEAM (SST)

The SST is designed to meet the needs of any student who is having difficulty in school.   In partnership with families, the goal of the program is to remove barriers to learning and promote student success.

Referrals: Any parent, teacher, counselor or administrator who has a concern for a students success in school should contact a SST member (teachers, guidance counselor, school nurse, school administrator).
Process: The SST gathers specific information about the student’s performance in school from school staff members who have contact with the student and from the parent as well.

Together, the parent and the SST develop a plan of action to help the student achieve success in school.

The SST continues to work with and support the student.  They stay in touch with the parent about the student’s progress and success in school.  The parent’s involvement continues to be very important.
