Everyone at Palisades has been given a Google account. Please understand that these special educational accounts are intended to help students become more organized and productive. Therefore, the accounts are regulated by Palisades and they are secure. Applications such as Google Chat and Facebook gadgets have been disabled.
The easiest way to access your Google account is to simply go to Google and sign in!

This year we will be using Google Calendars for homework and other important team events and due dates. We are excited about this tool because it allows you to look at your teachers' calendars, your personal calendars, and any other calendars you would like to view all in one place! One of our favorite features of Google Calendars is that you can set up notifications for upcoming due dates that can be emailed or text messaged.
To be able to import and view your teachers' calendars in your Google Calendar...
-
Log into Google and open your Calendar.
-
Find your teachers' calendars in our Olympian Google Calendar Directory.
-
Copy the URL for the calendar you would like to add to your personal Google Calendar by clicking in the cell with the URL and pressing Control+C.
-
Go back to your Google Calendar. In the left sidebar, to the right of Other Calendars, there is a drop down arrow. Click on that arrow and select Add by URL.
- Paste the URL by pressing Control+V and voila! You will now be able to view that teacher's calendar.
Every student has their own Google email address. It is their responsibility to check their email! Teachers may be using this as a way of communicating with students and sharing class assignments. We encourage students to use their email to communicate with us when they have questions.
Students will use Google Drive just as they have used Office applications in the past. Drive provides programs similar to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and others. What makes Google Drive different is that all of your child’s work is stored in the “cloud,” eliminating the need for discs and USB drives. Students can access their work from anywhere that they can sign in to Google!
